About the Author

Annette Dhanasar, CHRP, CHRL

Annette’s journey to becoming an author started several years ago as she wrote for magazines. 

Her creativity was evident in her writing style as she used stories to create content easy for the audience to connect with.

While in high school, Annette spent her after school hours and weekends in a part-time job as a software instructor teaching adults from various corporations.   It was her passion for making an impact in adult learning and the gratification she gained from watching clients graduate that steered her into the field of Human Resources.  

Annette’s career in Human Resources spans over two decades, she has held several Senior Leadership positions  at Fortune 100 companies, Hi-Tech Start-Ups & Consulting.   She has deliverered national programs in Quality Management, Compliance, Learning & Development and supported Mergers & Acquisitions across North America.  

Annette Dhanasar is an active member in the Canadian community.  

She sits on several subject matter expert panels including the Human Resources Association (HRPA) serving on the CHRL - Examination Validation Commitee for the Employment Law (EL) and Knowledge Exams (KE).  

She has been a Mentor and serves as an Advisory Member at Acces Employment  for over a decade.  Her involvement includes shaping & recommending career transition programs designed for Internationally Educated Professionals (IEP's) in the Human Resources Industry.   

 Annette is a certified Personality Profile Analyst (PPA+) and an Accredited Practitioner in Emotional Intelligence  with Thomas International and uses her expertise to guide and develop behavioural competencies.

On a personal note, Annette enjoys volunteering at various charities and holds children's health, young development and women empowerment close to her heart.

Annette choose the brand 'UpwardEver" to encourage young readers to look beyond the current situation and find new ways of overcoming their personal challenges, her first book includes stories of Chelsea's journey and the support network of Family, School and Community in making a difference!

Each character in "Chelsea's Way to Freedom was carefully designed to reflect the diversity and inclusion of society.

 

Why it Matters!

Annette  is proud to bring you her first Children’s Book with a focus on Disability, Children's Mental Health Wellness and Self-Esteem.

Her inspiration for this book is taken from real life experiences and her dream is to encourage young readers to become resilient and self-aware early in the development of their school life, as they face mental and societal challenges in a rapidly transforming environment.
